Answer: LOVE AT FIRST “SITE”
(The way the clue/question was worded made me think the first word should end in “ing”, but it was only four letters! Then I thought that the last word was either going to be LOVE or LIFE. Trying LOVE . . . first at least helped me remove enough letters for me to see FIRST. The remaining AETSIT gave me AT and SITE. Then I was able to get the order right! This shows you the value of a good answer letter layout. Hoyt nailed it . . . again! There were no new clue words today, but all the jumbles, with the exception of the one for “attend”, were new. Fine cartoon, too. I couldn’t make out the full name of the __‘s Bean Nice Cafe. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Sorry – messed up last comment:
The cafe’s name is IT’S BEAN NICE (It’s been nice spoof).
Thanks, Fred! I couldn’t make out the T, for the life of me! (Must have been something with the font.) I thought maybe it was Id’s, and the d was somehow compromised in my paper. — YUR
The word “first” should not be in any of the clues, since it’s part of the answer. Isn’t that a basic rule of puzzles?! Throws you off!
🙂
I don’t think it is, Kate. The only reference to the word “first”, other than in the answer, was in my commentary. And by then, I’ve already “spoiled” the answer. This blog isn’t for the playing of the Jumble (that’s what the newspaper, and other online sites are for), it’s the unofficial same day answer source of the Jumble. People come here when they’re stumped on a particular clue word, or the answer itsef. — YUR
