Answer:  WENT DOWNHILL

(Very good pun!  Free climbing a mountain, or escarpment, is difficult enough under optimal weather conditions.  Mix in rain, or snow, and you’re in a doubly difficult time.  Which is one of the reasons why yer ol’ uncle is a chicken crap couch potato!  Oh, I don’t mind a nice hike up a Class B trail, but dealing with hand/footholds is much more than I want to deal with.  I prefer my entire feet on the ground, and my hands free to do more important things, like scratch my butt, or pick my nose.  But, not in that order!

Hey, we had two new clue words today!  Yeah, both “longer” and “warmth” are soon to be new additions to the ralis95 clue word database.  So clearly those jumbles are new, but also the jumble for “whirl” is new.  Only the one for “dunce” has definitely been used before.  The answer letter layout was a jumble masterpiece.  It gave nothing away.  And, the cartoon was pretty special.  Great perspective, in displaying the perils of climbing.  I thought this was a great all-around Jumble.  What did you guys think?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

It seems like we had ” warmth” just a few weeks ago in a different letter order.
I struggled with it then .
It jumped out at me this time.
I only play this word jumble and blog. So I’m sure it is here somewhere.

Thanks uncle for your great takes on these games.

    JT,

That was the Sunday one that stumped me! You are right. We have seen “warmth” before. I’ll have to amend the spoiler! Thanks for keeping me honest, buddy.

Grand puzzler!!! Somehow figured WENT was the first answer word. Now, if I had been awake when I did the puzzler this morning, DOWNHILL should have just come to me without even looking at the letters, but no, I had to figure it out. Fortunately, it didn’t take long.

So many good puzzlers lately, but we’ve been gone and I’ve been playing catch up using the Seattle papers cool on line Jumbler. The only paper I missed was last Sunday’s as they don’t put the Jumbler in their Sunday paper. Wonder why??

Unc, you are so funny. But, I’m with ya, well maybe not the scratchin and pickin thing! But, I’m not going to be doing any type of hiking where I have to grab and/or hang. And I’m not too crazy about walking over open places on a log.

Looking forward to what the guyz have for us today (Sunday). LL

I went to see how the new word WARMTH was used again so quickly (three weeks) and it appears that I forgot to log it the first time it was used. I have a huge database where I log the word/date every time a word is used but somehow that one snuck through. It doesn’t happen often as you’ve seen but does happen from time to time. I also thought it seemed familiar. Thanks for keeping me on my toes!
