“The final proof of greatness lies in being able to endure criticism without resentment.” — Elbert Hubbard
(NOT to be confused with the Scientology guy! El-Bert is responsible for many of my favorite quotes. One of them being: “Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.” Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

As a followup to your comment yesterday, in addition to WINSTON CHURCHILL and ABRAHAM LINCOLN, the most prolific Cryptoquote sources would have to include today’s writer, ELBERT HUBBARD. And there’s also FRANÇOIS DE LA ROCHEFOUCAULD, and, *way down there,* JOSH BILLINGS. I wonder if there’s anybody like ralis95 who keeps track of this?
hal,
The Cryptoquote person him/herself surely knows. Perhaps that is Rebecca Kornbluh, but maybe it’s not. From the size of the fonts, in my WordPress tags list, I’d have to say that Twain and Emerson are running neck and neck. Followed in a tie by Oliver Wendell Holmes, Oscar Wilde, Henry David Thoreau and Winston Churchill. Then comes Abe and Al. Then it looks like Josh, George Bernard Shaw and Ben Franklin. Rochie doesn’t seem to crack the top ten, but I’m sure he leads the rest of the pack. We tend to see him in relative bunches, which we could probably say about any one of them. It probably goes to the mood of the Cryptoquote creator.
