Sunday Jumble Spoiler – 01/18/15

Visual Description:  Chasing Chomolungma.

GIRPNS  =  SPRING,  SDERWH  =  SHREWD,  FARDIA  =  AFRAID,  UNATBE  =  BUTANE,  SEWFET  =  FEWEST,  RABKME  =  EMBARK   —   Giving us:  SPISHEAIDTNEETERK

Clue/Question:  He decided to climb Mount Everest because the world’s tallest mountain – – –

Answer:  PEAKED HIS INTEREST

(Wow!  A 17-letter answer.  That is pretty impressive in itself.  I wonder what the length record is for a Jumble answer?  Hmm.  We have no new clue words today.  But, five of the jumbles appear to be new, with only the one for “afraid” definitely having been used before.  I probably had the most trouble with “butane”, and I really enjoyed the jumble of “embark”.  The answer letter layout was a Jumble masterpiece.  Without the quotation marks, around the first answer word slot, this might have been a very difficult solve, from this answer letter layout.  Nice job, Mr. Hoyt.  And, the extra effort was clear in today’s cartoon, as well.  Kudos to our friend, Mr. Knurek.  A very satisfying Sunday Jumble, indeed.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  WordPress’s unceremonious removal of Zemanta actually makes posting much faster!  Now, I don’t have to look through the photos they provide, looking for the one I feel best fits the post. Or, search through the “related” posts, for something that is interesting and at least slightly related to something that I wrote.  They’ll probably reinstate it, when I least expect it!  But, if they don’t . . .?  C’est la vie!      YUR
