(Seems he was a real plus!  Another nice long answer.  There were no new clue words today, but three of the jumbles were.  I could only confirm “godde” as being used before.  The answer letter layout was beautifully cryptic.  A splendid 12 letter jumble.  Conventional but cute cartoon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(I’m guessing that this is the former Congressman from Maine, and not the comedian or photographer, or whoever else out there with this John Smith kind of name.  He wrote an interesting book that you might want to check out.  It’s called Dangerous Convictions: What’s Really Wrong with the U.S. Congress.  Insight from a former insider should be very enlightening.
