Answer:  COURT HER BACK

(A very refreshing pun!  Not the usual stinky kind.  We have two new clue words today!  Someone alert ralis95!  Yes, both “crummy” and “chunky” are soon to be new additions to the world famous ralius95 clue word database.  And, “otabu” is also a new jumble.  We’ve had “puret” before.  There was nothing given away with the answer letter layout.  It was another master jumble!  Dandy cartoon, too.  I wonder who the boys will be rooting for in tomorrow’s big game?  I’m hoping that Seattle can repeat.  I’ve had a chip on my shoulder for Bill Belichick since January 27, 1991.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(This was not an easy solve, despite the A and I being fairly obvious.  This is the very first Zora Neale Hurston quote since I’ve been posting these spoilers, and I really like it.  A great way to prepare for Black History Month, as she was a very accomplished woman of color, way before the civil rights movement.  If they were to make a movie of her life they would just have to cast Queen Latifah in the lead role.  Just look at those cheek bones!  Ah luvs me mah Queen!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Happy Birthday, Wanda June

Answer:  TOO MUCH DRAMA

(Very nice.  Not sure if it qualifies as a pun, but the game just says “surprise answer”.  They don’t guarantee a pun, folks.  None of the clue words were new today, but all of the jumbles came up as new, for me.  None were terribly, terribly difficult, but I would say that “oduia” gave me a short pause.  Four vowels is pretty unusual.  The answer letter layout was another work of art!  Best one in a while.  Fun cartoon, with the tiny, stylized Thalia and Melpomene masks hanging below the klieg lights.  I fondly remember my days trodding the boards.  But, back then I always looked like everybody’s kid brother, so I wasn’t involved in any of those cast dramas.  No, wait a minute.  In my senior year I was in Happy Birthday, Wanda June, as Col. Looseleaf Harper, and I had just broken up with Marla.  Man, she could not compartmentalize her emotions.  Okay, so once!  I wonder whatever happened to her?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  ENGINEUITY

(Now, THAT’S a good stinky pun!  All of today’s jumbles came up as new for me.  And, we have a new clue word, in “pricey”.  ralis95 has yet another clue word for his world famous clue word database!  I even liked the answer letter layout.  Another fine jumble.  I don’t think it gave anything away.  Jeff’s cartoon was swell, as well.  The older cars were more open to mixing and matching.  Too many computer components in today’s cars for any of that.  Aah, progress!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Selfishness must always be forgiven, you know, because there is no hope for a cure.”   —   Jane Austen

(She said . . . with tongue firmly planted in cheek.  Today’s 1% kind of proves that there is no cure.  But, I’m not so sure we should continually forgive the selfish, and count on some notion of judgement day.  It is a kind of disease . . . like rabies.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  IT WAS TOAST

(Downright crispy.  No new clue words today.  But three of the jumbles were new, with only “susie” being definitely used before.  None of the jumbles seemed too tough. I really liked the answer letter layout today.  It was another super jumble.  The cartoon has great characters.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
