The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.”   —  Kobe Bryant

(He’s in his 18th season of the NBA, after being drafted . . . directly out of high school.  He has 5 NBA Championships, and made the Finals a few other times.  He’s been in 16 NBA All-Star Games, being named MVP in 4 of them.  He’s been on two U.S. Men’s Olympic Gold Medal winning teams.  He’s played his entire career with the Los Angeles Lakers, and is their all-time scoring leader.  His career numbers are insane, both offensively and defensively.  He once scored 81 points in a single game, against the Toronto Raptors, which is second only to Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point game, which came in an era when professional basketball was not what it is today.  He has so many accolades that it would take me all afternoon to list them out for you.  All this and he’s still only 36 years old.  Incredible.  Be well . . . no, be great . . . and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Hello Uncle Rave. I enjoy your site.

Perhaps you’ve fielded this question before: Can you offer any guidance on how to submit a Cryptoquote for publication?

    Thank you

Sorry, Ergo. I have no idea. While the Jumble creators, David L. Hoyt and Jeff Knurek, are frequent visitors, this blog has never received any acknowledgment from the Cryptoquote creator. I have made some assumptions that Rebecca Kornbluh is the creator, but I’ve never been able to confirm this.

Happy hunting! If you track them down could you report back to us?

Thank you Uncle Rave. I’ve never been able to come across any attribution for the Cryptoquote until your Rebecca Kornbluh reference. Thank you. I’ll take some stabs at the internet and see if I can draw blood.

You are very welcome, Ergo. Just remember that some newspapers (and online sources, I guess) sometimes refer to it as a Cryptogram. My guess of guesses is that she, if she is the creator of the cryptoquote/cryptogram, is not a big fan of the internet. Perhaps she is set in her ways, or perhaps she has had a bad experience with/on the internet. I can’t say for sure. All I know is that I’ve “tagged” a lot of my cryptoquote spoilers with her name, but she has made no (overt) attempt at commenting on them.

Please keep the blood letting just clever, figurative metaphor!
