Visual Description: Ancient . . . somewhere.
OYMEN = MONEY, GLUMO = MOGUL, CANOTE = OCTANE, DOTIYD = ODDITY — Giving us: NEOUOCNDT
Clue/Question: The poorly made abacus couldn’t be – – –
Answer: COUNTED ON
(The cartoon is new, but the gag feels like a re-run. This is definitely not our first abacus Jumble, I guess we’ll give the guys the benefit of the doubt. No new clue words today, but most of the jumbles appear to be new. Only the one for “mogul” looks like we’ve seen it before. I had a some trouble getting “octane”. Dandy answer letter layout. Great cartoon. These guys look either Egyptian or some kind of Mesopotamian. Maybe our buddy, ralis95, can identify them. This Jumble worked . . . better than the abacus. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Heh! I’ve been doing the Jumble all week in SC at my mom’s and thought that I would check in! I had trouble with MONEY and OCTANE, and actually had o back into OCTANE since I got the solution right away. Great cartoon! I love when the guys bring us back in time!
Hey Lesley! Nice to see ya. South Carolina is a great State!!!
I figured out the answer without being able to unscramble the last word. Even after the knowing the answer – ODDITY never occurred to me.
FWIW, Anurag, many people have trouble with words that start with vowels, especially when the jumble skews the syllables of the actual word. Hang in there, friend! — YUR
