Clue/Question: Getting hit in the head with the can of soda hurt a lot, in spite of it being a – – –
Answer: SOFT DRINK
(Ahh! The perils of the picnic. No new clue words, but all of the jumbles appear to be new. For some reason I had to back into “chorus”. I guess it was just a good jumble. The answer letter layout is nicely cryptic . . . another fine jumble. Super cartoon. It’s funny how different parts of the country have different collective names for soft drinks. I grew up calling it “pop”, but for the last 30 + years I’ve called it “soda”. Some places in the South say “Coke” for just about all soft drinks. What are you used to calling your “sody pop”, pilgrims??? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
UR, ‘Pop’ it is! I grew up in NE Ohio, and to us, a soda was something from a soda shoppe with ice cream and ice in it as well as the flavor. When we lived in Georgia and my kiddos were small, I asked my daughter’s friend if she wanted a pop- she thought that meant hitting people! =)
Grand puzzler, you just have to comment on a puzzler this good no matter how far behind you are. I fooled around with chorus until I got it. I would have loved to back into it but I had not figured out the puzzler. Soda here, pop from where I came!
