Answer:  DEGRADING

(This one was somewhat of a challenge!  It took me a while to see it.  No new clue words today, but all of the jumbles appear to be new.  I liked both “dismal” and “artery”.  The answer letter layout was fantastic.  At first, I thought the answer was going to end in ED, but then I thought better.  Great cartoon.  Leaky drooping ceiling, broken glass in the door, and even a mouse/rat hole.  Good stuff.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
