Answer: FULL MOON

Taken by Apollo 8 crewmember Bill Anders on December 24, 1968, showing the Earth seemingly rising above the lunar surface. Note that this phenomenon is only visible from someone in orbit around the Moon. Because of the Moon’s synchronous rotation about the Earth (i.e., the same side of the Moon is always facing the Earth), no Earthrise can be observed by a stationary observer on the surface of the Moon. (This was supposed to coincide with Wednesday’s “Blood Moon”, but due to the timing of the WordPress updates – “enhancements” – it could not be posted. If they would at least communicate with us, ahead of time, this nonsense would be easier to accept, but apparently that is too difficult for them. Better late than never, I suppose. None of the clue words were new, but the jumblings did appear to be new. Great answer letter layout, but the gag was well set up by the question, the cartoon, and it’s narrative. Great Sci-Fi feel to the cartoon! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
