Answer:  PASSIVE

(I’m more than a little surprised that the answer wasn’t “PASS”-IVE.   Or, would it be “PASS-IVE”?  Something like that.  It’s only semi-punny this way.  We did have a new clue word this day, in “waive”.  ralis95 can add this to his clue word database too.  All the jumblings appear to be new as well.  Nice job on the answer letter layout.  It’s nicely cryptic.  The cartoon got the job done.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Thank all of you guys, for both your support and your patience, during the WordPress induced down time.  It was greatly appreciated.  Hopefully, there will be smoother sailing going forward.     YUR

You don’t lead by hitting people over the head – that’s assault, not leadership.”   —   Dwight D. Eisenhower

(Why don’t they make Republicans like Eisenhower anymore???  I like Ike!  When he made the decision to get into politics he must have just flipped a coin, or something!  Too bad he didn’t go for two out of three.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Taken by Apollo 8 crewmember Bill Anders on December 24, 1968, showing the Earth seemingly rising above the lunar surface. Note that this phenomenon is only visible from someone in orbit around the Moon. Because of the Moon’s synchronous rotation about the Earth (i.e., the same side of the Moon is always facing the Earth), no Earthrise can be observed by a stationary observer on the surface of the Moon. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

(This was supposed to coincide with Wednesday’s “Blood Moon”, but due to the timing of the WordPress updates – “enhancements” – it could not be posted.  If they would at least communicate with us, ahead of time, this nonsense would be easier to accept, but apparently that is too difficult for them.  Better late than never, I suppose.  None of the clue words were new, but the jumblings did appear to be new.  Great answer letter layout, but the gag was well set up by the question, the cartoon, and it’s narrative.  Great Sci-Fi feel to the cartoon!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  CLEAN SWEEP

(FAN-tastic Jumble pun!  There’s a lot to like in today’s puzzle, friends.  We have a new clue word today, in “wacky”.  The alternative spelling: whacky – assuming the letters can’t spell another word – is also not on the ralis95 clue word database.  So, Mr. Hoyt might want to keep that in mind, for a later date.  All the jumblings appear to be new today as well.  Some were tougher than others, I suppose.  The answer letter layout was another thing of beauty.  I don’t think it gave a thing away.  The cartoon is a lot of fun, with all the high fives, and the one guy jumping for joy.  I also like the little garbage can logos on the their jerseys.  Nice touch.  A very satisfying Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be.”   —   Ralph Waldo Emerson

(That’s kind of expecting a lot out of someone, Ralph.  It’s definitely something we shouldn’t rely on.  If you find that someone . . . more power to you, but don’t hold your breath waiting on them.  You have to be willing to inspire yourself.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
