Answer:  GHOUL FRIEND

(They used this gag in my granddaughter’s classroom this morning!  We’re out visiting my stepson and his family this weekend.  Sorry about missing yesterday’s spoilers.  Maybe I’ll get to them later next week.  I’m doing today’s from Arkansas Online, and I’m not printing them out.  Should make the Cryptoquote interesting!  Looks like no new clue words today.  Great answer letter layout, and a fun Halloween cartoon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Jumble Spoiler – 10/29/14

Book Review – Agent Storm: My Life inside Al-Queda and the CIA

I like real life adventure/spy stories!

MJ Reads

imageAgent Storm: My Life Inside Al Queda and the CIA by Morton Storm with Paul Cruickshaw & Tim Lister

After seeing Agent Storm being interviewed about his dangerous adventures as a double agent for The Taliban and The CIA , I immediately downloaded his book. As A Danish citizen who spent his youth in a motorcycle gang, going in and out of jail seems, he seems to be an unlikely candidate to become an Islamic follower.  After reading a book about The Prophet Muhammad, Morten Storm is mesmerized by the Islamic religion, prompting his conversion to Islam. He moves to the UK, becomes radicalized and goes to Yemen to study Arabic. There are many twist and turns in his story. He explains the connection between different Islamic networks and their secret communication methods, along with finding a European wife for al-Awlaki. During his Taliban fighting in Afghanistan, he becomes friends…

(Fairly Tough) Jumble Spoiler – 10/28/14

Visual Description:  Baseball balladeers.

YLHYS  =  SHYLY,  FATSF  =  STAFF,  CUCORN  =  CONCUR,  TOGENT  =  GOTTEN   —   Giving us:  SHYSTACOCGN

Clue/Question:  The outfielders started their own band and played – – –

Answer:  CATCHY SONGS

(I thought this answer was pretty tough to get.  For a couple of minutes, I thought I was going to have to put it up for you guys to bail me out.  It finally dawned on me that the second word had to be “songs”.  With the leftovers, I came up with “catchy”.  Decent pun.  All the jumbling was new to me.  And, we seem to have another new clue word for the ralis95 clue word database, in “gotten”.  Plain old “gotten”!  The answer letter layout sure didn’t give anything away.  It was a super jumble.  The cartoon was rockin’ the house!  Game 6 is going on as I post this!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Cryptoquote Spoiler – 10/28/14

Keep your fear to yourself, but share your courage with others.”   —   Robert Louis Stevenson

(Too bad our government doesn’t hold this opinion.  Don’t buy into all of the fear/hype.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Clue/Question:  The cold weather turned the food-tasting contest into a – – –

Answer:  CHILLY COOKOFF

(Nice pun.  We have all new jumbles today, and one new clue word in “frill”.  Keeping ralis95 busy on the road to 4000.  Super job on the answer letter layout.  A nicely cryptic jumble.  And, a marvelous cartoon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Sunday Jumble Spoiler – 10/26/14

Visual Description:  Classroom discipline.

LANHIE  =  INHALE,  SEROET  =  STEREO,  GISELH  =  SLEIGH,  KEYELM  =  MEEKLY,  CUGORH  =  GROUCH,  RUTBAP  =  ABRUPT   —   Giving us:  INASTSGHMELOUHAT

Clue/Question:  After the student disrupted the class, the teacher – – –

Answer:  TAUGHT HIM A LESSON

(Wow!  A 16 – letter answer!  That’s pretty big.  Maybe not the best of puns, but it was alright.  A bunch of new jumbles today, and even a new clue word for the ralis95 clue word database, in “meekly”.  The answer letter layout was a thing of beauty.  Especially, considering the misdirection of the cartoon and it’s dialogue.  The answer had nothing to do with bones or skeletons.  I liked Jeff’s personal touch, of the one student wearing an Andrew Luck jersey.  He is one mega-talented QB.  I wish the Bills had him.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
