Answer: “TEAMING“ WITH PEOPLE
(Wow! A 17 letter answer. That is pretty big. None of the clue words are new today, but I think all of the jumbling is. They were all jumbled well, but the only one I had any real difficulty in getting was”palace”. The answer letter layout was wonderfully cryptic. At first I was a bit stumped. But, after I paid more attention to the answer blocks I quickly decided the middle word was WITH. Then the word PEOPLE came into view. When I wrote out the remaining letters – TAENMIG – I was able to figure out TEAMING, which is a homophone of TEEMING, which makes the answer a valid pun. Fun cartoon. Great Sunday Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Thank you as always. Figured out “Teaming With People” as the answer but didn’t fully understand until your explanation.
My pleasure, friend! — YUR
There seem to be different puzzles on the same day. The Jumble for 8/24/2014 I had online was NESwy – NEWSY, TyRId – DIRTY, VAShil – LAVISH and ORrEbb – ROBBER. The picture clue was obviously “ENVELOPE” 8 letters. However online the solution was 12 letters, “RESERVATIONS” Really screwed up.
I don’t do the online one. Just the one in the newspaper. 8/24 was a Sunday though, and I know there is no Sunday (six six-letter words) Jumble available online. Also, neither one of those answers sounds like a recent one. Your online site might be posting old ones for Sundays.
