Clue/Question: The dentist was happy to get the new patient as a result of – – –
Answer: WORD OF MOUTH
(Not a pad bun . . . er, bad pun. All the tried and true clue words were jumbled nicely, and newly, today. The answer letter layout is a thing of beauty. If you weren’t able to pick up on the gag, from the cartoon and the clue/question, you might have had some difficulty in solving this, from the answer letter layout alone. Fortunately, I am an idiom savant! The cartoon was fun. I always like it when Jeff puts his partner, David, in it. And, by partner I don’t mean “partner”. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! I just meant the guy he does the Jumble with. I guess Jeff is also featuring a friend named Matt, who happens to be a dentist. Which reminds me, I think I have to call my endodontist soon. I’ve got another tooth/crown that’s sensitive to cold. At least I’ll get to see Doris again. Hey! For that guy out there who once questioned my *sensitivity*, I’ll have you know that I am extra sensitive. Last month they told me that normally a root canal consists of deadening the three nerves of the tooth. But, my tooth had FIVE nerves! So, there. LOL! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
