Visual Description: Classic Air Jordan.
PRINTU = TURNIP, KESCIN = SICKEN, FACETF = AFFECT, HNARSK = SHRANK, SPOIGS = GOSSIP, PYNEHH = HYPHEN — Giving us: TRI$IEFECHRAGOHHE
Clue/Question: Everyone loved watching Michael Jordan play at the – – –
Answer: HEIGHT OF HI$ CAREER
(Nice long answer, huh?! There was plenty to like about this Jumble. None of the clue words seem to be new. “Shrank” is not on my latest soft copy, nor the latest hard capy of the ralis95 clue word database, but I seem to remember seeing it in a Jumble sometime in the past few months. Since my most recent is from 12/31/13, I think it’s time ralis95 sent me an updated version! I’ll have to email him a formal request. All of the jumblings appeared to be new though. I had a tough time with “turnip” and “sicken”. The others came immediately for me. The answer letter layout was very tricky. It really took me a while to figure out the answer. My first impression was that the two middle words were going to be OF THE. And, I also thought that one of the six-letter words was going to be CHARGE. I couldn’t do anything with RISIEH though. It took me a few minutes to get past my prejudice, but eventually I saw “HEIGHT”. Then “OF HIS”. With the remaining letters I got “CAREER”. I think the cartoon helped me see “HEIGHT”. I wasn’t expecting a basketball themed Jumble in August. It kind of threw me. But, it was a great cartoon and a challenging Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
how my I able to get the answer of the sunday jumble on the same day?
There is no place online. You can always come here, Carl. I generally post the spoilers same day. Probably about 95% of the time. This weekend I went out of town, attending a family gathering. These things will happen from time to time. — YUR
This is awesome. Any chance you have a game from last week, with the question “What the couple said when the poetry reading left them puzzled”? Thanks, Ron & Julie (Romeoville, IL)
Hey, Ron & Julie!
Last week? I don’t know what your source for Jumble is. Maybe your paper gets a discount on old Jumbles, because I found a spoiler that I posted with that Clue/Question back in April of 2010. That’s more than 4 years ago. Click on the link below to see it!

Man, Unk, you nailed it(!). My local paper must be running really old (cheaper, I guess) puzzles. We had the “verse” part, but kept getting hung up on “cloud” and we just couldn’t get it to work. Change that to “could” and it was a good puzzle — thanks. I can now resume normal programming.
