(I thought she was growing carrots and tomatoes!  Very punny, guys.  We had no new clue words today, but all of the jumbling seemed to be new.  I had a swing and a miss on “expert” at first.  I wrote down PRETEX, as though it were PRETEXT.  Sometimes when you say a word the ending gets a little muddled.  Like the credit card company commercial that’s promoting “fraud protection”, but the customer is hearing “frog protection”.  The EX that I came up with was getting me nowhere, so I went back to the drawing board.  The cartoon and clue/question gave me the answer, so I guess I had to back into a relatively simple word.  I always get there . . . eventually, but I’m certainly no genius.  The answer letter layout was another top notch jumble.  By itself it gave nothing away.  The cartoon was cool.  It could’ve used a little bunny lurking in the background, but it will do.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Cryptoquote Spoiler – 06/20/14

Growing old is no more than a bad habit which a busy man has no time to form.”   —   Andre Maurois

(This great quotation made for a great Cryptoquote!    It was challenging without being impossible.  No “the”, and only one word with a “th”.  No double vowels, or consonants.  And, only two “e”s – three if you count the author name – in the entire quote.  Staying busy does prevent “growing old”!  Strive to be both physically and mentally active, friends.  Enjoy this last full day of spring!  As always, be well and do good.)   —   YUR

PS.  The internet is full of many diverse, provocative, and often disturbing opinions.  Zemanta – based on the key word “Disraeli” – brought up another WordPress blog post, which was reposting an article from Veterans Today (VT) about the “Jewish Problem”.  I nearly included it with these other “Related articles”, but after reading it I decided against it.  It was written as a kind of historical perspective, and I was hoping that it would end with some kind of positive spin, but it failed to deliver.  I write this post scriptum as a kind of cautionary tale.  I don’t usually read these “Related articles”, past the short blurb that Zemanta provides, so on occasion I’m sure that there is going to be something that offends someone.  I might need to come up with some kind of disclaimer.  Any suggestions?   —   YUR
