Answer: “AUTHOR–IZED“
(Gotta love it! All of today’s jumblings were new to me! Of the actual clue words, there is one that is also new today. And, that is “richly” deserved! Our good friend, ralis95, is going to have to put whatever he is doing on hold, and update his clue word database! The way the answer letters layout is a marvelous jumble in itself. Nice job, Hoyt! I love the cartoon, too. Plenty of detail. The wizard’s hat. At first I thought it was a witch’s hat. The broom hanging on the wall Again, coulda been a witch’s. Also a magic wand! And, some kind of miniature horns, that I don’t quite get. Hey, I’m only a casual Harry Potter fan. You have to admire Ms. Rowling’s life story though. From a single mother on public assistance, barely earning enough to feed herself and her child, to one of the richest women in the world. Very impressive. As you might have guessed, I’m not a big Hilary Clinton fan either. I liked her better when she was first lady. Now, I find her much too hawkish, and I disagree with some of her priorities. She is a remarkably bright person though. That’s enough for today, friends. Be well and do good.) — YUR
Hi there, UR, just had to say how A+ funny and/or spot on all your comments were today. The click-on segment about 5 things government could learn from HP was a good one! Just so you’re in the know, and you can impress your friends, the hat in the picture is ‘the sorting hat’, which sorts new students into which particular house they will be in at Hogwart’s school, depending on their intelligence, personality, and character. The horns- that’s actually the golden snitch that flits around in the sky during Quidditch matches, which, if you catch (while flying on your broom of course!), earns your team 150 points, and most likely, wins the game for your team. Btw, thanks for sharing when you were momentarily stumped on some words the other day- it was heartening to know that the ‘Sheldon Cooper of Jumbles’ has an off minute or 2 every 5 years or so! 4 word speech from Dumbledore (Book One) we hope to see in the same Jumble puzzle one day- ‘Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! =) ..jenn
UNC! 🙂 I do like Hillary’s hair that way. Actually, it’s a great picture. The puzzler, oh boy, I knew not where to go for the answer. I dissected all of the four letter words I could find to see if I could come close. Had ‘rise,’ but it didn’t click. I knew the guyz would not have an answer that was Potterish, as not everyone is up on Potterisms. But I rather struggled for the answer and it popped in at supper. Saw –rize—author-ized! That is just plain ole great!
Jenn, greetings. You are a fountain of knowledge!!! Thank you.
Oh, thanks LindaLee! I always enjoy your comments and perspectives. Hope all is exceedingly well in your neck of the woods!
Thank you, ladies, for your great comments! I’m hardly a genius at anything, jenn. If anything, I’m more the Yogi Bear of Jumbles! The Jumble is more about noticing what isn’t being said. I’ve gotten pretty good at the Cryptoquote though. I wish more newspapers carried it, so there would be a little more interest in those spoilers. I guess the Jumble is like Wheel of Fortune, and the Cryptoquote is more like Jeopardy. Whenever my local station has a half hour special to air they ALWAYS preempt Jeopardy, when they could easily preempt Wheel. That always tees me off! LOL!

Au contraire. I would certainly argue the point with you, our dear Unc! You bring it all together, you pinpoint the nuance, you research the attachments, you continually give us a great blog, a great resource, a great venue for jumble non-aficionados to play and to enjoy. I’d say all that falls into the genius category. You do not just fall into a picnic basket! 🙂 LL
Aww . . . shucks, LL. — YUR 🙂
LL, ditto x 10 on the ‘au contraire’ message to UR. And, UR, ditto to the annoyance when Jeopardy is pre-empted! Seems like it’s replaced here for the latest State Fair news or the like ! And…btw, UR, you ARE smarter than the average bear!. =) …jenn
Jenn, loved that! LL
You ladies are just too good to me! Thank you. — YUR
