Clue/Question: After their air conditioner broke down again, she wished her husband could take a – – –
Answer: CHILL PILL
(Pretty simple American vernacular. Even though it was a pretty good answer letter layout, it was pretty hard to hide the answer with all those Is and Ls. No new clue words, but some very good jumbling. I had to back into “fibula”. I was too lazy to write out various letter combinations. “Pundit” was jumbled pretty well, too. The cartoon shows a good job of baldy losing it. That’s about it folks. Be well and do good. If it’s hot by you . . . stay cool!) — YUR
Haven’t looked at the answer, but since I finally had a quiet time to check in wanted to let y’all know I had not dropped off the earth.
Mama had been in and out of the hospital and rehab since a few weeks prior to Easter. Her CDOP, congestive heart failure, leaky heart valves and then a-fib had her totally wrung out. She left us a week ago yesterday on May 21. And, as you can imagine, there has not been much time except for being with her at the hospital, then getting arrangements together and all that goes along with it.
I have been rushing through my papers and pulling out the jumbles and funnies and have actually worked my way through Thursday, May 23 (I think!). Oh my word, what grand puzzlers. I have so enjoyed them. They have been quite the respite/escape of me. But I’ve had no time to get on line and comment about each one of these top notch puzzlers.
I hope to catch up and then be able to get back into the swing of things.
Take care all. And guys/Unc…keep up the good work!! LL
Oh, LindaLee! LindaLee! I am SO sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Mama. I think that all of us regulars, here at Unclerave’s, know what a dedicated and loving daughter you have been to your Mama, lo these last few years. I think that you yourself have gone through the proverbial wringer, but you did it with/for all the right reasons: love, compassion, and a child’s duty to her parent. You have my utmost respect on those counts. And, it goes without saying, that you have my sincere condolences.
Bless you, LindaLee!

UNC- Well said for Linda Lee….Linda Lee, My Prayers are with you…Sorry for your loss….Wimpy
Wow Wimpy, thank you. I have so appreciated the kindness extended to our family. It goes straight to the heart.
Linda, We are so sorry for your loss. Having lost my mother within the last year, I know how hard it is to say goodbye to one’s mother. You and your family are in our prayers. …Jeff
Jeff, I so appreciate your note. It does mean a lot. I am so very sorry for your loss also. You are so right, it is hard. And it was hard seeing her get weaker and weaker and I was not able to help her. I could always find a way to fix it, just not this time. I happy for her.
