(Not for this guy who is expecting to win, it isn’t!  Jeff Keane‘s joke is just prolonging the guy’s agony.  Is that Stephan Pastis up front?  That looks like Hilary Price just beyond him.  And, Wiley Miller and Mark Tatulli at the rear.  Ya gotta figure that at least Jeff Knurek will be attending.  I guess David L. Hoyt could be Jeff’s:  And One!  I’m a big Non Sequitor and Rhymes With Orange fan, so I guess I’d be pulling for Wiley, or Hilary.  But, I’m sure that they are all very deserving.  Just being one of the four nominees is already a huge honor.  Congrats to all of them on they’re nomination!

There were no new clue words today, but the guys went out of their way to give us “family” and “circus”.  Gee.  I wonder why???  You could say that all of them are “joker”s, and today’s Jumble is a bit of a “tease”.  The answer letter layout was nicely cryptic.  I don’t think it gave anything away.  Jeff’s cartoon is a great tribute to the National Cartoonists Society.  Nice job on the Reuben Award, buddy!

Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  In the spirit of impartiality, I’m not giving you pictures of any of the nominees.  Please enjoy these pics of Hilary Duff instead!  Plus, she’s a hottie.     YUR

(Tough) Cryptoquote Spoiler – 05/24/14

Brian and Tracy (and Julee)

Winners make a habit of manufacturing their own positive expectations in advance of the event.”   —   Brian Tracy

(You can always tell the difference between a philosopher’s quotation, and one coming from a motivational speaker.  Because the motivational speaker concentrates mainly on business people, he relies too much on the kind of language you’d hear in business meetings, instead of keeping things simple.  And, too often there is this emphasis on winners and losers.  It has its place, I guess.  It just strikes me as insincere . . . and coolly manipulative.  I’d rather show you the Brian/Tracy above.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
