Clue/Question: On the day of the marathon, the runner started with the – – –
Answer: HOME STRETCH
(Once upon a time yer uncle used to run. Wasn’t half bad, too! But, nowadays I just tend to run my mouth a bit too much. Oh, and I also run out of patience pretty quickly these days, too. But, unfortunately, that doesn’t burn too many calories. I could probably still compete in the event displayed in the top picture, but that would be more like counter-running.
Hey, no new clue words today. Decent jumbling though. I had to take a couple of looks at “menace” before seeing it. The answer letter layout is nicely cryptic. I don’t think it gave anything away. The cartoon does a great job of setting up the pun. Through the window you can see the day breaking on the horizon, and there’s the great contrast of the sleepy, yet supportive, wife and the amped up hubby-runner. The guy is going with the smart/healthy breakfast of water and a banana. The banana has natural sugar, and potassium to fight the leg cramps. The wife is going with the totally legal, yet highly addictive, caffeinated beverage . . . in a Jumble mug. Attagirl! Be well and do good, friends. Try to get a little more exercise into your life.) — YUR
