Clue/Question: The internet café served – – –
Answer: SMALL “BYTES“
(I would not be surprised if a good number of you struggled to get today’s answer. I don’t think that it was easy . . . at all. The clue words weren’t all that tough. I mean, none of them were new, but they were jumbled well. The answer letter layout definitely did not give anything away. The two things that helped me get the answer were the second answer word’s quotation marks, and the fact that there were only three vowels in the answer letters. There was a slight temptation to try for a word ending in LY, but that is usually less likely with short words. The cartoon is cute. The waitress is basic waitress, but the patrons look a little on the nerdy side. The one in the background is eating something small. Perhaps a slider. And, the menu on the table looks like it’s in a computer-esque font, with the 0101 being a basic binary code, and an emoticon! The guys may have served up small bytes, but I thought it was very satisfying. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
I completely agree, Uncle Rave. I wanted to put the Y at the end of a word, and it just wouldn’t work. However, it was pretty intuitive to keep the two Ls together. With iced granita and caramel mocha, who needs “proper” food???
Uncle Rave…I did a phone interview today with a reporter about JUMBLE, JUST 2 WORDS, puzzle-making, etc. and I mentioned your name, your blog and your commitment to JUMBLE, “staying on our toes” and your role in making JUMBLE better and better as time goes by. Just letting you know in case someone contacts you. It was a newspaper from Iowa I think. They probably won’t contact you but it’s possible.
Thanks, cuz! I always appreciate a plug. I’ll be on the lookout, just in case!
