Clue/Question: After getting into a traffic accident with his wife’s car, he was a – – –
Answer: TOTAL WRECK
(I guess he’s not in good hands . . . and probably doesn’t have a good neighbor . . . or a friend like Flo. He probably doesn’t even have a little lizard! Oh yeah. This guy is toast. He better get used to riding the bus!
No new clue words today, but I think all the jumbling may have been. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out “leeway”, and I really liked “spotty”. Splendid job on the answer letter layout. I don’t think it gave anything away. Cool cartoon. What exactly is it that he hit? Some kind of concrete median divider? Yeah. I guess I’ll go with that. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
I got the first 3 words and the answer within minutes but “leeway” eluded me for about 20 minutes. For some reason I just couldn’t see it.
That’s a tribute to David L. Hoyt’s jumbling prowess, Joe. He reads the blog fairly regularly, and I’m sure he’ll smile when he reads your comment. I think our brains have some trouble when a jumble consists of one or two real words. Our brains say: *That’s EYE LAW! It’s kind of silly. It doesn’t make much sense, but it’s not a jumble! It’s two words that I’m very familiar with.* It takes a little more time for our brains to get over that. It’s similar to when a jumble reads out as two syllables, but the unscrambled word is only one syllable. — YUR
