(But of course, corporate America’s has gone ALL IN on young swagger.  Experience – and loyalty – count for nothing when – potentially – you can hire two kids right out of school for the same money as one experienced worker.  They save on benefits as well, because many opt for the catastrophic health plan, if at all, and it’s just an individual plan, not a family plan.  Life insurance is a minor concern to them too.  By and large, they also put less in to their savings plans (IRAs).  They’re never going to get old!  And even the max % they can contribute is going to be easily matched, because their salaries are smaller.  Then the companies work them until they burn out, and start the process all over again.  If they stay and complain they hear: “You should be thankful you HAVE a job!”  To supplement some of that lost experience they hire consultants.  They don’t have to pay for any benefits for them, and the cost of hiring consultants is written off as a business expense.  This, along with increased “automation”, is the major reason why unemployment is so high in this country.

Great clue word jumbling!  It was an uncommon jumbling of “common”, and “hoist” is always fun!  And, we have yet another new clue word for the ralis95 clue word database, in “gazebo”.  The answer letter layout gave nothing away.  Great job again, Hoyt!  And, Jeff’s cartoon does a great job in setting up the gag/pun.  Have a good week, friends.  Be well and do good.)   —   YUR

HOIST was very hard! When I finally did get it, it was by accident! As for the state of our nation, I have never seen morale so low. I just watched George Carlin’s “American Dream” skit this morning. As he says, “Two words sum it up: OBEDIENT WORKER.” That’s all that the companies of today, and even more upsetting the education system, seem to want of today’s workers and children. Experience and loyalty are gone with the wind, and democracy is not far behind. Thank goodness for the DAILY JUMBLE which makes us laugh! 🙂

Attagirl, Lesley! It’s nice to know others are also seeing what I do! And, thanks for the kind words. — YUR
