(A tasty Jumble gem!  No new clue words on this day, but both “driver” and “choosy” are newly jumbled, from my vantage point.  From checking the ralis95 clue word database, I see that “choosy” is also one of those words that spells out in alphabetical order.  The answer letter layout was splendid, but you can see the word CRUNCH if you look closely.  It would have been a little tougher had they switched “stunt” and “cramp”.  The cartoon was semi reminiscent of that classic episode of I Love Lucy, where Lucy and Ethel get a job on a candy factory assembly line.  Lots of fun.  I wonder how Jeff did at his Brooklyn concert?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Too many women in too many countries speak the same language, of silence.”   —   Anasuya Sengupta

(You said it, Ana.  Things are slowly getting better, but change comes painfully slow in many third world – and many fundamentalist – countries.  Heck, it doesn’t come fast in even the more modern and progressive countries.  Yoko Ono probably said it best when she said, and John Lennon later sang:  Woman is the Nigger of the world.”  Always treated as second class citizens, or worse, as property, women have had to endure in silence for far too long.  Things are improving, but as with racial issues and other sexuality issues, acceptance of equality doesn’t follow a straight line.  We are continually running into spikes of resistance.  We will ever confront the ignorance, intolerance and injustice with intelligence, patience and fairness.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Coincidentally, Yoko Ono celebrates her 81st birthday today!  Happy Birthday, Yoko!   —   YUR
