(Boy, those Yankee fans sure know how to have a good time! It still kind of irks me that those bozos knocked down a perfectly good stadium – one with so much history and character – to build one with more luxury boxes, for the corporate fat cats. Way to respect your rank and file fans there, Yankee brass! Shea had become a scary rat hole that really had to go, but the old-er Yankee Stadium was a solid classic.
No new clue words today, and the jumbling was only so-so. Only the jumbling on “undue” was new, but it was pretty obvious. The jumbling for “opaque” was the best, but we’ve seen it before. The answer letter layout was stellar, though. That’s how Joe Benigno would describe it! Nice little play on words! And, it’s a great drawing . . . for a couple of Yankee fans, that is. Hey! Pitchers and catchers are starting to report! Football is pretty much history, until the Draft Day hoopla begins, so it’s time to start thinking about America’s – older – Pastime. Basketball and hockey are just pleasurable distractions in comparison. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
