Answer:  MR. WRITE

(And, he . . . Mrs. “Write”, to a lesser extent, as she is also an author.  Very few are as prolific as Stephen King though.  James Patterson can crank them out too, but King’s can be rather lengthy at times, while Patterson seems to be able to keep his stories to under 400 pages.  But, none of this has anything to do with today’s Jumble!

No new clue words today, but I did enjoy the jumbling of both “motion” and “theory”.  TOMINO put me in mind of tomatillos, which I just heard/read about for the first time.  I thought that the chef/author was just trying to sound ethnic, talking about some kind of small, Mexican tomatoes, or something, but they are a “fruit” unto themself, and are used in making Mexican/Central American green sauces.  They are in the same family as tomatoes though.  It was a recipe for something called Denver Green Chili, and it sounded good to me!  But of course, I’m a sucker for stews and chilis.  I likes my comfort food, folks!  Oh, yeah.  The Jumble.  The answer letter layout was pretty spiffy today.  Nothing given away there.  And, that’s saying a lot for a short answer like today’s.  The cartoon was charming and romantic.  Was King expecting this, Jeff?  Or, was he just kind of the most logical choice for this Jumble?  Doesn’t really matter, I guess.  I just know that sometimes Jeff has very specific reasons for his cartoons.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

First time I’ve been to this site. Can’t believe I had to look this up. I’m not familiar with Stephen King and convinced myself that the answer involved a book title. Shame on me.

Groan! Laugh! I just loved this puzzle! Mr. Write! Hahahaha! I was confused at first by the period after the first 2 letters in the solution. Was this a first? I think I’ve been steadily doing Jumble for about 7 years, and I never saw a period.

    Hey! A Bart Simpson fan!

Lesley. I can’t tell you when, but I’m relatively sure we’ve had a period or two before.

When I studied the puzzle I told my husband, oh no, a Stephen King book reference for an answer, I’m going to be so stuck! But, the period helped when I was looking for two letter words that might fit. MR.! And the write feel fell right in. Very, very good!! Then I wondered if it was Mr. King’s anniversary, birthday, or something.

    LL,

If the guys were going for a specific King title I’m sure they would have to go with something universally recognizable, like a “Carrie”, “Cujo” or “The Shining”. Something of that ilk. But, fortunately, they didn’t go down that road. I don’t think Jeff sees all of these, or feels compelled to answer every question that comes up. But, I think if there HAD been some kind of personal connection Jeff would have jumped on it. I think King was just the *write* fit!. 😉 — YUR

I was thinking some Stephen King nuance….but then, I should know better because the guyz do such a great job of keeping the puzzles solvable by everyone…which is great! Thank you Unc. I appreciate your input.
