Clue/Question: The cuckoo in the clock made an appearance – – –
Answer: FROM TIME TO TIME
(You guys who don’t get the Sunday Jumble don’t know what you’re missing! Yet another six great jumbled clue words. A superior answer letter layout. And, an extra special Jeff Knurek cartoon. That cuckoo came out looking like its ass was on fire! I half expected to see Sylvester waiting by the side, ready to pounce on the tweety, little, cuckoo bird. Even the pun/answer was fairly challenging. No, folks. They don’t get much better than this. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
I agree with your take on today’s jumble, but I thought the answer “from time to time” was a bit inaccurate given that the phase means “unpredictable” or occasionally. Clocks are anything but those things. But a great puzzle nevertheless
I think that is what made it more challenging, Bill. As far as clocks go, though, I agree that an answer like “time after time” or “time and time again” would have been more accurate. — YUR
Oh my gosh! This was gold. Invest and induct got me. Should not have, in my opinion. But I was baffled. And the answer, oy! Because “time” was in the puzzle I totally was not looking for it in the answer. So it took a while. After I found from, I figured it out. But, I really thought I was wrong.
And our cuckoo goes off from time to time! It seems to have a time of its own.
