(Chances are – if it’s new – it’s a “privatized prison”.  Yet another fiasco started – or restarted, to be fair – under the Reagan administration.  There are just SO many things wrong with this societal dilemma that it would take pages and days to write.  So, I’ll just provide you with a few links, so you can read up on it on your own.

These had to be the four easiest clue words in a long, long time.  But surprisingly, the word “choose” is new to the Jumble.  The ralis95 clue word database has choosy, but not “choose”.  I thought the answer letter layout was fantastic.  If you weren’t able to pick up on the combo of the picture and the clue/question, you might have had a hard time breaking down the answer letters.  I did this yesterday, but didn’t have the opportunity to post it.  I’m glad to get back to the full size Jumble that my newspaper runs.  The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle runs the reduced sized puzzles!  You lose a lot of detail and they’re just harder to read.  And, no Cryptoquote during the week!  The content of The Journal News largely sucks, but at least they do a good job with the Comics section.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I’ve started doing the puzzle on the Seattle Times site: http://www.uclick.com/client/sea/tmjmf/2014/01/01/index.html It’s kind of fun. There’s an option to print it if I am having difficulty. Only thing is, on Sundays they don’t have the six-word puzzle, only another four-word puzzle that does have the current date written on it. Do you know why that would be?
