My 12-yr old daughter and her friend worked on this Jumble. But in the end I had to tell them they would probably not “get” the answer to the puzzle. I explained what “bedlam” meant, and also the origin (mental hospital in England).
I remember when I was a kid (probably talking early 70’s) I would do the jumble with my mom. If I couldn’t get the word, I would ask her if she thought I would know it. I hated working hard to unscramble a word that in the end I had never heard of.
Yeah, but as a result, you were able to add to your vocabulary! And, I think the learning from a game, such as the Jumble, helps to reinforce your remembering of the these “new” words.
