Answer:  HIS GOOD MEMORY

(I believe that all the jumblings were new today.  Not the clue words, just the jumblings.  And, that’s just since I’ve been posting these spoilers.  I liked them all, but especially “oomph” and “trudge”.  We actually have a new clue word for the ralis95 clue word database, in “byline”!  I thought the answer letter layout was fantastic!  Too bad the Clue/Question had the word “recall” in it, and the one guy mentioned RAM, which stands for random-access memory.  Those two references pretty much gave the answer away, for me.  Fine cartoon though.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Those jumbled words were buggers!! It didn’t take all that long, but they were buggers, especially trudge and byline. Grand puzzle! Loved the pic! That computer looks like my old Lanier Word Processor! LL

“oomph” is a legit word??? Well, it’s in Merriam Webster online. It’s not in my 1951 Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary, though. I always love showing people that the word “astronaut” is not in this dictionary.

Ahh! The evolution of the English language! Oh, and of course, that 1951 dictionary was left to you by your grandmother! Right, Bev???

My father gave it to me. He was a wordsmith, alright. We were always whipping out the dictionary to clarify some word or other after dinner. 🙂
