Answer:  CLEAR THE AIR

(Excellent clue word jumbling today!  I actually tripped up a bit on “laugh”.  I usually catch myself on the five-letter jumbles that are made to look like two syllable words, when they’re only one syllable words.  But, this one caught me for a minute.  And, I backed into “native”, which just happens to be a new clue word that can be added to the ralis95 clue word database!  I was a little lazy.  Forgive me, folks.  I didn’t even try to write out different possibilities.  I solved the three others, wrote down their letters, and went straight to the cartoon.  Which happened to be fairly obvious, so I was able to back into “native”.  The answer letter layout was pretty darn good though!    The Clue/Question and the cartoon told me all I needed to know.  I’ve always been pretty good with my idioms.  I have a new found sympathy for smokers.  I still think it’s a filthy habit, but the poor schlubs are addicts!  I think it’s shameful and hypocritical that we chastise the people that are the pawns of this multi-billion dollar industry.  And, that we have a paramilitary governmental organization – the ATF – that essentially protects it!  What sick bastard decided to group together Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms anyway???  Tells you a lot about our country’s priorities.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Okay.  Be more ant than grasshopper, but don’t forget to stop and smell the roses.  Life is too unpredictable to constantly worry about the future.  Enjoy it while you can.  This is the first Morris West quotation since I’ve been posting these spoilers.  He has a lot of great quotes out there!  His name didn’t ring any bells for me, but I am familiar with two of his novels:  The Shoes of the Fisherman and The Devil’s Advocate.  His Wikipedia bio is quite interesting.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  This antique car has little to do with anything, other than it being a Morris Cowley.  I just like these old cars!   —   YUR
