Answer: COULDN’T STAND IT

Title: Custer’s last stand Caption: Native American Lakota Sioux, Crow, Northern, and Cheyenne, defeat General Custer standing center, wearing buckskin, with few of his soldiers of the Seventh Cavalry still standing, Little Bighorn Battlefield, June 26, 1876 Little Bighorn River, Montana. (A lot to like with this one. All the clue words were jumbled expertly. None were obvious to yours truly. I actually screwed up twice on “scenic”! At first I wrote down incess, then realized two things: 1. there were two Cs and not two Ss, and 2. Incess doesn’t exist on its own, only as part of incessant! Then I said to myself: You big dummy! It’s obviously science. Wrong again! Seven letters don’t fit in six squares. I knew the answer, so I was able to back into “scenic”. It’s certainly not a new word to the Jumble, or a difficult word. I just got tripped up on the jumbling. The answer letter layout was great, but like I said, I already had the answer figured out. The cartoon was brilliant! Top notch! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
