VETEN  =  EVENT,  THENT  =  TENTH,  KAEEUR  =  EUREKA,  PAMELI  =  IMPALE   —   Giving us:  NTTHURIAE

Clue/Question:  The astronauts on Mars dug for ice in an attempt to . . .

Answer:  UNEARTH IT

(I liked it!  A lot!  Great clue word jumbling.  Hoyt really outdid himself today.  I loved “eureka”.  I actually had to think a bit on “tenth”, and “impale” has always been a fan favorite.  Also, the answer letter layout was perfect!  Maybe the best I’ve ever seen.  It doesn’t even hint at the answer.  And, you can never say enough about the Jeff Knurek cartoons!  Straight out of The Jetsons today.  Did you guys notice the little “human” skull that the astronauts un-marsed?  Hilarious!  Who knows.  There might even be a little truth to it!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(I like Porsches, but they’re more about power and performance.  I’m more into style.  That’s why I like their Boxter model.  Very sleek.  Overall, I’m more of a Jaguar man.  I like the XKRs and the new F-Types, but I really liked the old XKEs.  They looked like bullets flying down the road!  They looked like horizontal rockets!  I remember an old print ad from the mid to late 70s.  It featured a cobalt blue XKE in this lush field of dark green grass.  I was already a big fan, because a big-kid neighbor of mine had one, but that ad really solidified my love affair.  If I ever win the lottery I’ll have to hunt one down.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Clue/Question:  The wrestler on the bottom was going to end up being a . . .

Answer:  SORE LOSER

(Great clue word jumbling.  Nothing was new today, but each one posed a bit of a challenge.  Answer letter layout could have been better.  Good pun, and a great cartoon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Our boy Jeff, giving some of his buddies a little free advertisement.  Nothing wrong with that.  Great pun!  The clue words were pretty simple today.  But, it looks like “father” is new!  The answer letter layout was pretty decent.  Probably could have been better.  Fine cartoon.  There’s a link to one of The Warrior Kings’ songs down below.  Be well and do good, friends. )  —   YUR

(A quote . . . from The White Rat???  That was his nickname, to National League fans who weren’t Cardinals’ fans.  Not a warm and fuzzy kind of guy.  But, he was a very good manager!  Usually – not always, but usually – beat up on my Mets.  I was glad when he finally retired.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

CNUBH  =  BUNCH,  RACTA  =  CARAT,  DEALOD  =  LOADED,  RILFAY  =  FAIRLY   —   Giving us:  BNCCATEDIL

Clue/Question:  Thanks to the fender-bender, she met her future husband . . .

Answer:  BY ACCIDENT

(Pretty easy solve, but we did have some nicely jumbled clue words.  Surprisingly, both “bunch” and “carat” are going to be new additions to the ralis95 clue word database.  The answer letter layout was just okay today.  Coulda been tougher, but like I said, the answer was pretty easy anyway.  Maybe she went to Minnesota, or Missouri, or Mississippi.  Maybe Maryland?  Massachusetts??  Hard to tell from a black and white cartoon!  Just joshing.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Clue/Question:  Where Tarzan worked out.

Answer:  AT THE JUNGLE GYM

(Good stuff!  Great Drawing.  Pretty obvious answer though.  Some pretty good jumbles though.  We have another new word for the ralis95 clue word database, in “bummer”.  Great answer letter layout.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  More bad news on the great pet front.  My neighbor, Jerry, lost his Prince Charles Cavalier to severe heart disease.  Teddy was a neighborhood favorite.  Beloved by people and dogs alike.  A sweet, sweet, gentle little soul.  He will be missed.  Peace.   —   YUR

(This is Arnie’s way of saying:  A thing of beauty is a joy forever!  Arnie is the man!  Definitely the most charismatic golfer of my lifetime, and one of the greatest golfer’s of all time.  Hails from Latrobe, PA.  A nice little community, 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.  Also, the home – one time, at least –  of Georgia Wineman.  A pretty little blond who was not into yer uncle, when they were in college together.  Hey, ya can’t win’ em all!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS. Congrats to Phil Mickelson, on his very impressive victory at the British Open yesterday!  Way to go, Lefty!      YUR
