(Our boy Jeff, giving some of his buddies a little free advertisement.  Nothing wrong with that.  Great pun!  The clue words were pretty simple today.  But, it looks like “father” is new!  The answer letter layout was pretty decent.  Probably could have been better.  Fine cartoon.  There’s a link to one of The Warrior Kings’ songs down below.  Be well and do good, friends. )  —   YUR

“The answer letter layout was pretty decent. Probably could have been better.” I’ve been wondering, what does that mean, when you talk about the answer letter layout? Thanks!

    Hi, Bev!

The answer letter layout is what you see after “Giving us:” I work on the Jumbles in a fairly methodical manner. I always un-jumble the clue words first, starting from the top jumble/clue word. When I’ve un-jumbled all the clue words I go back to the top and write out all the circled letters, left to right, top to bottom. That’s what gives me what I call the answer letter layout. I treat it as the final, or big, jumble, if you will. I know that some people write out the consonants and vowels separately, and have other little tricks, but I like to write it out in, what I consider, the Western order. I suppose some folks might not write it out at all. Maybe they just look at the letters in the circles, but that wouldn’t work for me, because all the un-circled letters would be too much of a distraction for me.

    Hope that helps!

Oh I get it. Yeah, that’s pretty much how I do it too. But if the words don’t come to me right away I move quickly to the puzzle, and then kind of jump back and forth. Thanks for the answer!
