(Let’s just pray that most/all of these amateurs have the sense to launch these bad-boys in a sober manner.  Doing them drunk just multiplies the risk and danger, both to themselves, and to their audiences.  I know it’s a machismo, rite-of-passage kind of thing, but we’d all be better off if we leave it to a pro . . . and just enjoy the show!

No new clue words today, and I also checked on yesterday’s.  Same deal.  Some great jumbling though.  I really liked the job Hoyt did on “uproot” and “kayak”.  The answer letter layout was good, but I thought the answer was fairly obvious.  Stay safe, folks.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(This one was tougher than it looked!  At least it was for me.  This is from the last stanza of the U.S. National Anthem.  It’s heard very seldomly, as we usually hear only the first stanza.  Very appropriate for the celebration of our Independence Day, here in the U.S.!  Everybody have a safe and happy holiday!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
