Visual Description:  Cold blooded detective, getting down to business.

KANEL  =  ANKLE,  OCTIX  =  TOXIC,  LAVRUG  =  VULGAR,  SHIRTT  =  THIRST   —   Giving us:  ANETOIVGRTIS

Clue/Question:  The crocodile needed help solving a case, so she called in . . .

Answer:  ANINVESTIGATOR

(Beautiful!  No new clue words today, but some great jumbling.  I really liked “vulgar” and “thirst”  Fantastic job on the answer letter layout!  Nothing given away there!  I liked the way Jeff drew the difference between crocodiles and alligators.  I always wondered, given the same age and size, which would win in a fight?  The bull-gator, or the bull-croc?  All I know is that I wouldn’t want to mess with either one of them.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Not bad!  You see a lot of self-pick fruit farms in the northeast.  I think the farms are generally smaller, and they can’t afford to hire as many migrant workers as the big farms.  Or, something like that.  What do I know?  We had a new clue word today, in “botch”.  I also liked the jumbling of “septic”.  Decent job on the answer letter layout.  Tough hiding seven letters, that make up two small words.  Fine Jeff Knurek cartoon.  Anyone have trouble getting the answer?  I wouldn’t think too many of you did, but you never know.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(All tried and true clue words today.  But, there were some very interesting jumblings.  My favorites were “harder” and especially “engage”.  “Utmost” was pretty good, too.  I really enjoyed the answer letter layout though.  Well thought out and challenging.  I like Jeff’s department store.  Especially the mannequin in the background holding the umbrella.  That could become a new – indoor – staple!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Human history becomes more and more a race between education and catastrophe.”   —   H.G. Wells

(And sadly, too many of us ignored the education, that scientist were trying to teach us, about the perils of climate change, due to man-made global warming.  Catastrophe is now clearly winning the race.  I’m betting a good number of the deniers are still in denial.  Better to burn in a forest fire, drown in a flood, get swallowed up by a sinkhole, or have your home collapse on you from an earthquake or tornado, than have someone think you’re some kind of pinko-hippy, science person, with some vague agenda!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Great odoriferous pun!  No new clue words, but they were all very nicely jumbled.  I really liked how “usher” and “attend” were jumbled.  We’ve seen “cisnek” before!  Why not?  It works!  The answer letter layout was a nice bit of misdirection.  Unless you’re an 8 year old, you don’t normally associate kissin’ and stinks.    Great drawing, too.  Who doesn’t like cartoons with skunks?  Better than zombies even, in my book!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
