“Where they have burned books, they will end in burning human beings.” — Heinrich Heine
(Our first Heine quotation since I’ve been posting these spoilers. Many of you may think that the Nazis invented book burning. Oh, no. This heinous act – libricide – goes back thousands of years. Almost as long as Man has been using parchment. Probably longer, when you consider some sort of Philistine-like people smashing clay and stone tablets. Obviously, not the same as “burning”, but the end result is the destruction of the written word. The silencing of ideas. It’s a grand gesture of intimidation and intolerance to politically incorrect thinking. It’s about oppression and control. Don’t rationalize, or be blasé about government – and corporate – censorship. Fight it. “Do not smile at the visionary who anticipates the same revolution in the realm of the visible as has taken place in the spiritual. Thought precedes action as lightning precedes thunder.” That’s right, Mr. Heine. Keep opening those minds. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
