(Ahh! Somebody that both Mets fans and Yankees fans can agree on! So colorful and so knowledgeable. No wonder he was known as “The Old Perfessor”. I don’t remember him from his managerial days – it was before I was terribly baseball aware – but I do remember him from interviews and ceremonial appearances. Such a great character, and a true American icon. And, speaking of American icons, we lost two more greats this past week, in Annette Funicello and Jonathan Winters. Annette was America’s sweetheart for much of my youth, and Jonathan was the original hilarious American whackadoodle! So frenetic and out there. Far ahead of his time. Their passing is so sad. They will both be missed, yet very warmly remembered. Life/time marches on, folks. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
