OPRIR = PRIOR, TONEF = OFTEN, LUWTAN = WALNUT, SCECAS = ACCESS — Giving us: IOOTWLNAC
Clue/Question: Death Valley is so hot thanks in part to its . . .
Answer: “LOW–CATION“
(As in be-low sea level! Cute. Decent jumbling of the clue words. It seems that “access” is going to be a new addition to the ralis95 clue word database! The answer letter layout didn’t give it away. And, a neat-o cartoon-o! What’s that supposed to be on the lizard’s fan? I can’t make it out. Was it some kind of bonus clue, or just a design of some kind? Hmm. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Thank you, anonymous Canadian! I do believe you are correct! I guess I was just too tired to see it last night. We had a late snow storm – for us, sorta – yesterday, and I thought that my paper wasn’t delivered. I went to the online version, and had some trouble getting it to print, or even display properly on the screen. My newspaper must have made some changes to their online service, because I’d never had this problem in the past. Anyway, I finally got it printed around 10:30 PM. But, wouldn’t you know, this morning I found yesterday’s paper, all safe and warm, right inside my house. If it had been a snake, it probably could have bitten me!
Keep on rockin’ in my favorite province!

I almost threw in the towel on the answer—but I could not do it twice in once week!!! I found location in the clue letters, but obviously it did not fit anywhere. And I found low and stewed on the answer for most of the day. And I kept going back to location and low…then separated the low from the remaining letters—voila, it hit me low-cation! Cunning guyz! Had me going. Unc, have a grand time in your snow.
