Visual Description:  Prague’s patented pastime.

SEYZT  =  ZESTY,  CHITK  =  THICK,  DACIEV  =  ADVICE,  NIMLEG  =  MINGLE   —   Giving us:  ZETHCACME

Clue/Question:  He played chess in Prague with his . . .

Answer:  CZECH MATE

(This woman is almost as evil as the grimace on her face.  I wouldn’t play anything with the shrew!  Pretty basic clue words, today.  Don’t think that anything is new.  The jumbling was pretty decent.  I think that “advice” probably gave people the most difficulty.  Great answer letter layout, and an even better cartoon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Can’t say as I’ve ever heard of the man.  Senior, or Junior???  Probably Junior.  But, I DO like his style.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Nice long – 12 letter – answer!  No new clue words, today.  Nothing wrong with the jumbling, but none of them tripped me up any.  Same with the answer letter layout.  And, a nice little cartoon.   Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Clue/Question:  The flight attendant was starting to feel the . . .

Answer:  CABIN PRESSURE

(This cartoon almost made me forget to avert my eyes, before getting to the clue words!  Out of the corner of my eye, I thought that Jeff was giving us some kind of hoochie-mama, doing some kind of dance!  Of course, this is a family puzzle, so that scenario wasn’t really very likely.  But, that’s what I thought I was going to see.  Oh, well.

No new clue words, today.  But everything was nicely jumbled.  Including the answer letter layout.  Great cartoon!  Be well and do well, friends.  C’mon Colts!   You’re only down by two scores.)   —   YUR

PS.  I likes me some hoochie mamas!  LOL!   —   YUR

(NOW WE’RE TALKIN’!  TALKIN’ PROUD!!!  LOL!  Dem’s mah boys!  Hey, Wimpy!  Are you digging this?  Thanks, Hoyt and Knurek.  Whether or not this was for Wimpy and me, I appreciate my boys getting a SHOUT out.  We looked fairly crummy beating the Dolphins on Thursday night.  But, considering how good we looked, in getting robbed by the officials, just four days earlier, I’ll take it.

No new clue words, today.  But as it turns out, yesterday’s “prong” IS a new clue word.  So ralis95 has a little updating to do to the clue word database.  The clue word jumbling was fine, but I got all the words immediately this morning.  Same with the answer letter layout.  To my credit, I didn’t even notice the cartoon was about the Bills, until I had completed the clue words.  Made me laugh out loud.  lol, for you kids.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Marvelous quote!  And, a pretty challenging solve.  Only two words, and the last name, ended in E.  And, neither single letter words were used.  For me, the placement of the commas, and the two short words following the commas, were the biggest clues.  After discerning that it was all downhill.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Loads of pics of paintings and statues of this man – and his castles, and such – but the coat of arms REALLY caught my attention.  Beatutiful!  I decided to give you an additional pic of a painting of him, because I liked the hat he was rocking!  Without the hat he has an ENORMOUS head!  Like Egghead, from Batman.  Not exactly flattering, by today’s standards of beauty.  Maybe back then, but not today.   —   YUR

Before You Accuse Me

Before You Accuse Me (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Visual Description:  Grumpy looking grower, dishing the dirt . . . on dirt, to the new hire.

DOYDL  =  ODDLY,  GORNP  =  PRONG,  CASCUE  =  ACCUSE,  BATPRU  =  ABRUPT   —   Giving us:  ODLRNGUSERU

Clue/Question:  The nursery owner told her new employee the . . .

Answer:  GROUND RULES

Grumpy

(This one was pretty good!  I don’t currently have access to the clue word database, so I don’t know if any of the clue words are new.  None of them stand out as new.  Possibly “prong”, but the others look like old friends.  For some reason, I had a hard time with “accuse”.  I didn’t spend a lot of time on it, though.  I got lazy and backed into it.  The answer letter layout was good, but even without “accuse” I got a good feel for the answer.  Very serious looking ladies, Jeff.  That’s it.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Now, I see where Eric Clapton got the idea!   —   YUR

Maya Angelou with Bloomberg and Nadler

Maya Angelou with Bloomberg and Nadler (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I have found among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.”   —   Maya Angelou

(But, only when the giver gives with no anticipation of quid pro quo.  Too many people give just becauce they expect that they will get in return.  I also know some who allege that the act of giving is selfish, because the giver is seeking that warm feeling of good will, that you get from giving.  For me, the point is moot!  I’se broke!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
