Clue/Question:  The decision to develop a Trans-Atlantic telephone cable was this.

Answer:  A GOOD CALL

(Our old friend “tycoon”, and a brand new word for ralis95 to add to the clue word database, in “grout”!  Nice jumbling, good answer letter layout, not too difficult answer.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PIREG  =  GRIPE,  DONUH  =  HOUND,  RREROT  =  TERROR,  STURHH  =  THRUSH   —   Giving us:  GIEHERRTH

Clue/Question:   When he asked, “Where do I turn left?”  she said . . .

Answer:  RIGHT HERE

(THAT can be SO freaking annoying!  But, it looks like they’ve been through this before.  No new clue words, today.  Although, all the clue words were well jumbled.  Same with the answer letter layout.  Nice job, Hoyt.  Cartoon gets the point across.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Clue/Question:  The merger of the two safe companies was this.

Answer:  A GOOD COMBINATION

(Nice long answer.  Great answer letter layout.  There was a decent level of difficulty in solving today’s Jumble.  I breezed through all of the clue words, though they were all well jumbled.  I really liked the jumblings of “notion” and “coward”.  No new clue words, today.  Not sure why this merger is taking place in the ol’ west.  Does anybody know if Jeff was going for something specific?  Or, did he just feel like drawing horsies and cowboy hats??  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(But . . . won’t that put all the “intelligence agencies” out of work???  Would it were the world was so simple.  Backroom deals, with substantial financial considerations, and dancing with the devil is the unfortunate reality of foreign and domestic policy, these days.  And, to a certain extent, is how it has always been done.  But, ya gotta like Ike!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  MAINE DISH

(That Jeff Knurek!  He really likes the state of Maine!  “Where America’s Day Begins”  or “Maine:  We’re Really Cold, But We Have Cheap Lobster”  They’ve got some great parks and mountains too.  It’s not all about the lobster, although I’m sure most tourist go there expecting to eat a nice big one.

Interesting jumbling of the clue words, today.  I really liked the way “shown” was laid out.  We have another surprising new clue word to add to the ralis95 database, in “mumble”.  The answer letter layout was beautifully cryptic.  The answer itself was fairly evident.  However, it’s a cute cartoon, and the whole thing worked well.

If Jeff’s Michigan Wolverines can beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, tonight, I’ll have to take my hat off to him!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Clue/Question:  What snobby birds with egos do.

Answer:  LOOK DOWN ON US

(Nice pun!  And, a nice long answer, although it is broken up into 4 small words.  Nice jumbling of the clue words.  None really gave me any trouble.  It looks like “sunken” is going to be another new addition to the ralis95 clue word database.  The answer letter layout gave nothing away.  Cute cartoon.  Looks a little like Hoyt!  Is Jeff wishing that birds would poop on his partner???  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
