Clue/Question:  When the zombies took over the railroad, passengers rode on . . .

(From freight trains to fright trains!  Very good!  You really have to admire the professionalism of the zombie conductor and zombie brain vendor!  I think as long as you have your ticket, and you’re willing to buy some brains, they’re not going to try to eat you!  Just don’t:  Tell Her No.

I actually had more trouble figuring out both “chaos” and “factor” than the other two words, though all were jumbled well.  It looks like ralis95 has even more work to do, with his clue word database, as “clinic” is another new addition!  The answer letter layout gave absolutely nothing away, so you really had to pay attention to the cartoon.  Cute cartoon.  Cute Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

CLINIC threw me today, as did LAPTOP yesterday. Hoyt is getting really good! (See my response to yesterday’s spoiler for the total number of words in the database, plus one more for today). Please add my and P’s best wishes to C for a wonderful birthday! The date wasn’t on our calendar or P would have designed and sent one of her special greeting cards.

David L. Hoyt here stopping by to check in and say hi. I couldn’t help but notice that you say CLINIC is new to the database but I show that used it once before on 7-24-11. I actually date every single word that I use so I know exactly when I used it last. And I would also really like to know exactly how many new words I’ve added since taking over for Argirion in March of 2011. I try hard to find new ones as you are seeing. It’s getting tougher and tougher.

    David L.,

7/24/11 was a Sunday! If, for some reason, I did not indicate that CLINIC was a new word, when I posted that Jumble Spoiler, then ralis95 may have missed it. He does not do the Sunday Jumble, and relies on this blog when new words appear in Sunday Jumbles. I’ll see if I can find that day’s spoiler.

I just re-read the 7/24/11 Sunday Jumble Spoiler. I did not question, or state, anything about the word CLINIC, but I did *ask* ralis95 if HYPHEN was a new word! This kinda tells me that I probably was not in possession of a soft copy of the clue word database file at that time. I *may* have had a hard copy at the time, but if I did I did not refer to it.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was curious about that. I forgot about the Sunday thing.

Aaarrrggg, I’m behind–not looking at the answer here. Sunday’s puzzle answer has had me stumped….and I finally threw in the towel only to be totally hacked at myself when I saw the answer! I had “minded” — but ignored it. Could it have been any easier to figure out….I don’t think so. So, I’m now on to Monday. :0)

YUR and David – It has been only recently that I have started to enter new words to the database that appear in the Sunday Jumbles – and then, only if I remember to check on YUR’s spoiler, as my paper does not carry the Sunday JUMBLE puzzle. I’ve tried to go back a few months in YUR’s Sunday spoilers and I think I’ve found all the new Sunday words from that time forward, but going back beyond that the base does not include any new words discovered or questioned by YUR. As for the word count, I posted the number and basis from my records in YUR’s 9/18/12 spoiler. You’re doing great, David! Keep up the good work!! You really challenge me at times.

Sunday’s (09/16) Jumble solution seems to be missing again

OK, I’m all caught up and worked somewhat quickly through today’s jumbled words. Got trains quickly and figured out fright. Cute — nice zombies. I think the absolute scariest movie I ever saw, fright wise, was “Night of the Living Dead,” Just when you thought some one would be safe……

Not this time, friend! It’s there. It says (On Time) Sunday Jumble Spoiler 09/16/12. You might have scrolled past it.

    Linda Lee,

Black and white, graveyard, fog and zombies! What more could you ask for?!

Not much!!!! IMHO, it is the premier zombie movie! LL

Our newspaper doesn’t publish the Sunday Jumble. I see it when we are snowbirds, in the Mobile Press Register. I like it because it has 6 words instead of 5.

  15. 15 unclerave September 22, 2012 at 5:57 pm

Yeah, Ella. And, usually the answers are a little longer too! The Mon – Sat Jumbles are actually four clue words, but two of them are five letter and two are six letter. The Sunday Jumble has six clue words and they’re all six letters! A little added degree of difficulty!

Thanks for stopping by today, Ella!
