Visual Description:  Every young parent’s lament!

TAFRYC  =  CRAFTY,  NOITUG  =  OUTING,  DIFELD  =  FIDDLE,  PULOEC  =  COUPLE,  XELUED  =  DELUXE,  RAYSOV  =  SAVORY   —   Giving us:  CRTONGFIOUDLUORY

Clue/Question:  After being awakened by the baby so many times that they couldn’t get any sleep, the parents said this.

Answer:  FOR CRYING OUT LOUD

(A beautiful sixteen letter answer!  For a few seconds, I was actually intimidated a little!  But, Jeff conveyed it perfectly, with the drawing of the father, in the background, saying: What is her deal, tonight?  No new clue words, but they were all jumbled well.  They all came to me very quickly, though.  The answer letter layout was masterful.  My kids, and two grandkids so far, have responded very favorably to my dancing them back to sleep.  Just a gentle, rhythmic four count seemed to do the trick.  Sometimes with a corresponding light patting on the back.  Babies generally like yer old uncle!  But, that kind of work is better suited to a younger crowd.  Part time/short time, hand them off to mom or dad, works best for me these days.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Sorry about this weekend!  The wife’s cousin and her grown children took up Saturday.  We all caught up and had a very nice, early dinner at a great Japanese restaurant, on top of a mountain.  Great food, a good show, and a couple of Asahis.  Then the wife, daughter and I traveled to Long Island yesterday, to see a great beautiful friend, who used to live with us.  She fed us all our favorite foods, and we spent a few hours on the beach!  And, we got to bring home some very tasty leftovers!   —   YUR

To treat your facts with imagination is one thing, to imagine your facts is another.”   —   John Burroughs

(Anyway you look at it, I think that this quote sums up FOX News so much better than their tagline: “Fair and Balanced”!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Easy) Jumble Spoiler – 07/09/12

Visual Description:  I kinda think that “Killer” did it on porpoise!

MBIPL  =  BLIMP,  DEEWG  =  WEDGE,  DULHED  =  HUDDLE,  LENCAC  =  CANCEL   —   Giving us:  LWDHAE

Clue/Question:  When the dolphin got hit by the orca during the performance, he . . .

Answer: WHALED

(Decent clue word jumbling.  Nothing new, or difficult.  The answer letter layout was fine.  It’s just that the answer was pretty darn obvious.  But, it’s a decent pun, and a fun cartoon.  Now.  On to posting the missing Sunday Spoilers!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Very Tough) Cryptoquote Spoiler – 07/09/12

Asking your neighbors to tweet the ‘news’ is not unlike asking your Cocker Spaniel to buy groceries.”   —   Rheta Grimsley Johnson

(I was spinning my wheels on this one, for a good bit!  I suspected that CDP was “THE”, but I just couldn’t imagine CAPPC as “TWEET”, especially before “THE”.  I guess I’m just too much of a 20th Century kinda guy!  I finally got the ball rolling when I decided it was a good bet that the L was I, and that the first word – and eleventh – ended in ING, the LR was likely “IS”, and the JGC was likely “NOT”.  From there, things started falling into place, but there was till plenty of work to do.  Nothing stood out as a gimme.  And, the author name wasn’t really any help either!  But, I was very surprised to see that this was not the first time she has appeared in a Cryptoquote Spoiler!  Another one of her quotes was used as a Cryptoquote on 03/25/09, and – for whatever reason – I posted the Spoiler on 03/26/09.  Presumably, shortly after midnight, but who knows.  That was over 3 years ago!  You can find it by Googling:  Rheta Grimsley Johnson Quotes, and scrolling to the bottom of the page.  It reads:  Rheta Grimsley Johnson  <<  Unclerave’s Wordy Weblog.  But of course, that could move very soon, as I’m sure queries on today’s spoiler will likely exceed the earlier, and easier, quote.  I hope you guys had as much fun with today’s Cryptoquote as I did.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  I forgot to mention that it’s a very hip and clever quip!     YUR
