Visual Description: Jeff reliving his glory days?
SHUYK = HUSKY, DUOIA = AUDIO, BLERAR = BARREL, MOFHAT = FATHOM — Giving us: HSAURRLATH
Clue/Question: For the graduating college cheerleader this game was her . . .
Answer: LAST HURRAH
(Well . . . “hurrah” is a cheer. It’s just not the kind of cheer you hear from a college cheerleader. You don’t even hear the “rah” very often anymore. The old stereotype of: RAH! RAH! SIS-BOOM-BAH! doesn’t really fly these days. That was probably born in the 1920s. Slightly before your uncle’s time. Hurrah is more the For he’s a jolly good fellow kind of cheer. Hurrah is also a little more British. Americans are more fond of Hurray. Which makes it kind of strange that the WordPress spell-check feature is questioning hurrah. WordPress is out of England, so you’d think it would allow it without question. However, their spell-check even flags the word WordPress! So, go figure!
Good clue words. I like “fathom”. I don’t use that word enough. I can’t fathom why?!?! Surprisingly “audio” is not on the ralis95 clue word database. The answer letter layout was only fair, today. The “last” is spread out pretty well, but I could see the “hurrah” pretty clearly. Now, gee. What is that school that Jeff went to? Was it Maryland? Minnesota? Mississippi? Missouri? Montana? Did I leave anybody out?) — YUR
PS. A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mr. Gene Wilder! He is one of my favorite actors, who has been in some of the funniest/most entertaining movies of all time! Enjoy your day, Gene. (I can’t believe you’re actually older than my mom!) — YUR
