Visual Description: Disturbing dissension in the clubhouse!
LUPEM = PLUME, ANGIT = GIANT, DOSETD = ODDEST, XICEES = EXCISE — Giving us: LUEGNTODIS
Clue/Question: He was this after the team’s loss.
(BEAUTY! Nice sports pun! This might have been fairly tough, for those who have little, or no, knowledge of baseball. Today’s Jumble would have made a fine Unclerave Wiseguy of the Day contest. However, I’m trying to keep those to a once a month kind of deal. I know some of you are thinking: Thank God for that! Alright, calm down kids. Let me continue with today’s critique. The clue words were all expertly jumbled. I was able to see “plume” and “excise” right away, but both “giant” and especially “oddest” took a little thought, on my part. The answer letter layout gave absolutely NOTHING away! Kudos! Does anyone even say “Kudos” anymore??? Furthermore, I loved today’s cartoon. Just like a scene from Major League! Have you ever noticed how many great baseball movies there are out there? Probably more than any other sport. However, that might just be my narrow, American slanted take on things. It’s probably safer to say there are more American made – Hollywood – movies about baseball, than any other sport. That’s about it, people. Great way to end the week! As always, be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. Happy 100th Birthday to Fenway Park! It’s nice to see some people still value landmarks and tradition. I was very upset when they tore down a perfectly good Yankee Stadium, for no REAL GOOD reason, other than to create more luxury boxes for rich fat-cats, by building a brand new Yankee Stadium. Greedy idiots! Fenway! Home of “The Splendid Splinter”! What a great American! — YUR

This was a HARD Jumble for me today! GIANT made me crazy! WHY? Well, of course it was the soft “G” sound in front of the word instead of the hard “G” sound, which stumps me every time. I knew OUT was in the solution, but SINGLED took me awhile to figure out. Good challenge today!
Oddest got me for awhile, as did singled. But, I ended up solving with out help.
