Never invest in any idea you can’t illustrate with a crayon.”   —   Peter Lynch

(Other than regular options and futures, I don’t care for any of the “derivatives” that the Wharton boys have been peddling for the last 20 some years.  I never thought they were healthy for the markets, or the economy in general.  Be well, do good . . . and buy long, friends.)   —   YUR

Jumble Spoiler – 04/09/12

Visual Description:  Lois and Clark, the domestic years.

INBOS  =  BISON,  CREMY  =  MERCY,  WROAND  =  ONWARD,  ONEOLD  =  NOODLE   —   Giving us:  INMRANO

Clue/Question:  After seeing how wrinkled his suit was, Superman would become this.

Answer:  IRON MAN

(Pretty easy, for former geeky teenagers, who have never – really – fully grown up!  But, for those with more sophisticated dispositions, this could have been a bit of a puzzler.  Come to think of it, the majority of these Jumbles have a decidedly masculine slant to them.  Works out for us he-man, macho typesthat’s right, baby – but not exactly respectable to the fairer sex, and those who might be a tad more intellectual than doofuses, like yer uncle.  I think Jeff and David need to tap those feminine resources, better known as their better halves, to come up with some more womanly themed puzzles.  What do you say, ladies?  Do you want to occasionally see a softer side to the Jumble???  Ones where you can *get them* almost immediately, but you know most guys are going be scratching their heads for a while?  Speak now, or forever hold your peace!

None of today’s clue words were new, but they were all jumbled well.  I almost had to back into “onward”, but it didn’t quite come to that.  The answer letter layout was good enough.  It could have been just a little better, but I don’t think it gave anything away.  Moreover, the cartoon was very amusing.  That’s it, kids.  Be well and do good, my friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  I always thought that that Teri Hatcher was a Hot Box of Rocks, ever since I first saw her in Lois and Clark.  Never watched that Desperate Housewives nonsense, though.  Way too chicky for me!   —   YUR
