Visual Description:  An all too familiar urban predicament.

THINGK  =  KNIGHT,  AOWULT  =  OUTLAW,  SHAILV  =  LAVISH,  MATASH  =  ASTHMA,  OTOTAM  =  TOMATO,  CIDNIT  =  INDICT   —   Giving us:  KNGOLLAIHMTTONI

Clue/Question:  His commute to work was this.

Answer:  TAKING A TOLL ON HIM

(A nice big fifteen letter answer, today!  Of course, it was spread out over four words, but still, that’s a lot of letters to process.  The answer letter layout did not give anything away today, and you all know I like that!  All the clue words were well jumbled.  Other than “knight” and “indict” I had to think a bit on all of them.  Of all the clue words “tomato” is new to the ralis95 clue word database.  Go figure.

I’ve got an unusual predicament of my own, today.  The Section V, Division 1, Class A Pittsford Panthers are facing the Section 1, Division 1, Class A  Suffern Mounties in the New York State Public High School Ice Hockey Championship Game, as I type this very post.  Why should this pose a problem for your dear old uncle?  Well, I was born and raised in Pittsford, NY and attended Pittsford Sutherland High School.  However, for the past 26 years I’ve called Suffern, NY my home.  All of my kids attended Suffern schools.  How often does this come up in most people’s lives?  I suppose you could say I’m in a no lose situation, but still I have to choose.  I had no idea Pittsford was even a contender, and of course I’ve been following the Mounties for probably close to 20 years.  So, I’ve got to root for my current home town team, to defeat my childhood home town team.  A funny thing that I just found out is that both teams’ colors are dark blue and white, and their symbols are both the big cat’s paw.  Mounties is kind of short for mountain lions, and Panthers is pretty self-explanatory.  When I was in school – way back before the internet and blogging – the two Pittsford high schools had separate sports programs.  I attended Sutherland, and our teams were the Knights, and Pittsford Mendon’s were the Vikings.  This was the height of the Baby Boomer generation, so we easily fielded the two different sets of teams.  Now they’ve combined forces, for many/most sports, and they’re the Panthers.  After all these years, I don’t know if I’d recognize a single name on the Pittsford team.  But, some of the Mounties are neighbor kids.  I still have strong ties to my childhood home, but home is where the heart is, and my heart is in Suffern.  May all the participants escape any serious injuries, may it be a clean and competitive game, and may the best team win!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I went to Sperry high school (class of 72)- Rush-Henrietta Comets was our team. My best friend went to Pittsford high school so I spent a lot of time there too. Those 2 pictures brought back pleasant memories. Thanks

    Carol,

I think you guys were one of our big basketball rivals in those days. I was a little surprised that there were pictures of Pittsford available, but I guess just about anything can be found on the internet these days.
