Cryptoquote Spoiler – 03/05/12

Catch Me If You Can @ Neil Simon Theatre on Br...Money brings some happiness.  But after a certain point, it just brings more money.”   —   Neil Simon

(Not that that’s a bad thing, mind you!  When you have very little of it, money is a very welcome sight . . . happiness, or not.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Eva Mendes is 37 today!  Happy Birthday, darling!  Psst.  Call me.  And, a belated (yesterday) Happy Birthday to the lovely Kay Lenz!  Back in the ’70s I had such a crush on that lady.   —   YUR

PPSSorry about the photo favoritism, Neil.  But, how can you expect to compete with that, bro?   —   YUR

Jumble Spoiler – 03/05/12

Alex Raymond's Jungle Jim (November 26, 1939)

Image via Wikipedia

Visual Description:  A rather jocose jungle jalopy Jumble jaunt.  (And, you guys thought that all I was good for was: Very nice!)

ENKTL  =  KNELT,  NSURP  =  SPURN,  CUTALA  =  ACTUAL,  CRENTH  =  TRENCH   —   Giving us:  KNSPUACTRE

Clue/Question:  The elephant needed a car with enough . . .

Answer:  TRUNK SPACE

(Great way to start a Monday!  Two new clue words, for the ralis95 clue word database, in “knelt” and “trench”.  I thought “actual” was actually pretty challenging.  “Spurn” is a great word, but I thought it was the easiest of the four words to figure out.  I’m extremely happy with the answer letter layout, today.  My only thing is, after writing the answer letters down, all I had to do was to glance at the cartoon – without reading the dialog or clue/question – and I knew what the answer was going to be.  That made the whole thing a little anti-climatic, but there’s no denying that this was fun, on many levels.  The car is like something out of the Flintstones!  The hood made of wood planks, a bamboo bumper, headlamps that have candles in them, wooden wheels, and the whole thing kind of tied together with jungle vines.  For those of you with the reduced sized Jumble you might not be able to see what’s behind the grill.  The “engine” is a couple of tread wheels, powered by some kind of rodents!  The whole contraption is a thing of beauty.  Many people don’t know this, but Bongo Bob once was a salesman at Uncle Rave’s Cars.  He was a pretty good salesman, but I had to let him go for drinking on the job.  He is virtually addicted to banana daiquiris!  Still, I wish him all the best.  Be well and do good, my friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  All the Flintstone pics that Zemanta tried to provide came up as “Non-free”, so I gave you another cartoon instead.     YUR
