Answer: LEFT ALONE
(I like it! Not mega-tough, but there’s an element of challenge to it. All the clue words were jumbled well. I only had trouble getting “taller”, and as it turns out, it is new to the ralis95 clue word database! For future reference, Mr. Hoyt, it looks like both SHORT and SHORTS have never been used, as per the above referenced. The answer letter layout gave nothing away. The cartoon is simple, but very demonstrative. Today’s was no sterotypical, but it was A-Okay in my book.
I once worked with a Mary Corrigan, and occasionally we would call her “Wrong Way”. She didn’t mind. Douglas “Wrong Way” Corrigan had only sons, so I don’t think there was any relation. However, after seeing the photo on Wikipedia, used here, I wouldn’t completely rule out the possibility. Many believe that his story about going the wrong way was just a story, because he had earlier been denied permission to fly to Ireland. I wonder if ol’ Mare is still with us? She was a sweetheart. A gruff exterior hid a real heart of gold. A true daughter of Ireland! She always looked out for me. Life was very good in those days. Sigh. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
